Some Bunny

Morning!
Last weekend I was celebrating my 50th birthday so was a little busy!!!
Luckily, I had a great time in my craft room before that and decided to make an Easter card. It's not until April 21st but if you are making a few cards, you have to get started really.
Easter is not a big card making time for me, though I do enjoy the time of year.
This bunny has been in my stash for a few years now, and I seriously love him! He is a great image to colour. On this card I used Copic markers but I have also used Zig markers in the past. With not being a very talented colour person, I can move from left to right in gradients quite easily as there is no complicated shadow aspects.
The overlapping effect on the Easter eggs was achieved by a technique called masking. This technique is achieved by stamping your first image, the masking it off so you can stamp another age over it. It creates the illusion of images being in front of or behind.
This guy and the easter eggs are from the same stamp set called Some Bunny by the fab Simon Says Stamp team.

Its midweek so not log until the weekend folks, so enjoy the rest of your week.
Bye for now

Wink of Stella Florals

Morning guys
How was your weekend? Mine was lovely. I actually did a bit of crafting as well as some videoing of techniques for Instagram. Watch this space!
Interestingly, I did used to video for my YouTube channel but it was a slow and tedious process. Im all about efficiency and when I wasn't so well, I would struggle learning new tasks.

Todays cards are an example of how vibrant Kuretake Wink of Stella coloured pens can be. I love using them on florals. To get a bit of dimension, I allow the first layer to dry, then go over some of the areas that I would like to see darker. The image above is called Create Something Beautiful. the sentiment is from the set called Folk Art Florals. Both are by Wplus9. The florals below are from the set called Kind Soul from the same company.

Can you tell that I have dies cut 'Hello' out of the
middle of the flowers?
Wow, that really messed with my head as it seemed scary to spend the time colouring it in just to die cut it. I don't think the photo picks it up too well, but in real life its pretty cool.

Well, this week is my last week where I can say I am '40 something'!
Not sure how I feel about that really. Time keeps moving on by and milestone birthdays are a good reminder to make the most of your time with people you care about.
Thats why this year, my family will come to Canada and we will have a big party in August!!!!!

Have a wonderful week crafty peeps and see you next time.
Hugs
Cheryl

Cute Bee Combo

March 04, 2019
Hi guys
Cute bees in pink and grey...what more can I say?!
I designed two cards using the gorgeous stamp set from Hello Bluebird called Bee Happy. The framed dies are also Hello Bluebird and the set is called Gallery Frame Die Set 2. By the way, this set of frames also includes the florals, the frames and the 'thanks' from my other card called 'Lazy Bee'. Such amazing value for money!
One of the colour combos I can gravitate to is pink and grey. There is something very pretty to me about it. I love cute and pretty and I am learning that seems to be my style. I love cute images and pretty colours. And I love pretty florals in lovely colours.
At the weekend I was smiling to myself as I was colouring some florals actually. I could alternate weekends between floral and cute images. That would be so rewarding to me....cute and florals all with pretty colours....yay! I think I have found my style in this big world of card making.

My world seems to be more settled these days and I think have it this way and working part time is starting to really help my creativity to come out in my craft room. My confidence is still a struggle but I think this is not unusual for anyone.
I plan to do some brief filming of techniques and chatting via Instagram in my future, but one step at a time as its all a process and theres no rush.
My hope is that you get inspired to create something and connect with yourself on a 1:1. So good for your mental health!
Big hugs,
Cheryl

Lazy Bee

Hi guys,
Its Friday and even though not all of you will be having a day off, hopefully it is the end of your working week.
I have to share this card with you. Its one of three I made using one of the Little Bluebird stamp sets I ordered called Bee Happy. the die thanks is from their Gallery Frame Die 2 set. In the end, I cut three out of white cardstock and glued them together to add lots of dimension.
There was a little bit of Copic colouring here. Not too much to be stressful or show how unskilled I am, haha. The honeycomb is die cut from some vellum, so it would not take anything away from the gorgeous coloured background paper.
Do you plan to be doing something creative this weekend?
Bye for now
Cheryl
