Altenew Paint-A-Flower: Camellia Outline Stamp Set Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Well, Hi there crafters!
I was pretty busy making cards throughout December and January and I let you know that I would be sharing a lot in the new year, well, here I am again guest designing for Altenew! Third time this month!!
I feel pretty lucky about that actually as it really is not a hardship designing and using their stamping products. The quality is wonderful and the designs amaze me as I am sure they do you.
I have a couple of cards to share with you as part of the blog hop but first, let me tell you a bit about it..

Giveaway Prizes!

To celebrate, Altenew are giving away $200 in total prizes!
Altenew is giving away a $50 gift certificate to 1 lucky winner and a $15 gift certificate to 10 winners! All you have to do is to leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog and/or each designer’s blog post on the blog hop list below by 01/28/2021 for a chance to win.
Altenew will draw 11 random winners from the comments left on each stop of this blog hop and announce the winners on the Altenew Winners Page on 01/30/2021. That's it! So, what are you waiting for peeps?!

Below are a couple of card projects that I completed using the Paint-A-Flower : Camellia stamp. I hope my designs will inspire you to get some valuable time with yourself and get creating!

Watercolouring seems really intimidating to me. I see so many amazing projects on social media of artists and I feel as though I am out of my depth with it. Sometimes, when I want to watercolour but feel as though I just can not do it, I bring out my Zig markers. Don't worry, I am going to do 'real' watercolouring when I feel more confident, but I really wanted to make the most of colouring this beautiful Camellia image.

The second card project, because of course I am unable to stop at just one project, the same beautiful Paint-A-Flower Camellia but this time I coloured it with Copic markers and the die cut it. I wanted to have the opposite of the card above and have dimension this time. I love to have a bit of texture, so you will see I (yet again) used the Grid Cover Die.

Buuuuuut, I embossed with it instead!!
Are you impressed? because I am!

After fussy cutting out the Camellia image, I then popped it on top of
the embossed background. I made good use of the new really handy Simple Greetings Die set, released earlier this month by adding one in the centre of the card. Add a few embellishments, and voila!

One other thing before you leave.. Altenew have some monthly subscriptions and Paint-A-Flower is one of them. I have added the details below just in case you are interested.

This is a monthly subscription plan for our Paint-A-Flower. When signed up, you are guaranteed a spot in our monthly Paint-A-Flower releases and will receive a set each month - at a specially discounted price! ($15.99 →$12.99)

Floral Notes by PinkfreshStudios

Hi fellow crafters!
Today I am sharing three different slimline cards using three different mediums. All three cards are using the most beautiful stamp set by Pinkfresh Studios called Floral Notes
The above design was made using all the extra tools in this set. The stamp set, the coordinating dies and the stencils. The colours are Distress Oxides Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry and Lucky Clover. The background is Squeezed Lemonade.
This beauty, which I think is my favourite was coloured with my Copic markers. I'm a bit more confident with markers than I am with water colour as you will see below ..hahahaha..The background is the Distress Oxide Iced Spruce, which I love!
So, this card...Hmmmm, I'm pretty sure watercolour should not look like this! Im afraid I just can not do this technique very well, but I am going to share this card with you any way. The reason I am going to share it is because I am not an artist. I am a card maker who has needed to learn how to make cards, write a blog, be a top photographer and come up with miraculous designs with various products. I am also a mental health clinician working part time...Hahahaha..sorry, laughing at myself again! I get so intimidated by the expert card designs and pristine ness of other incredible designers, that I think you may appreciate that making the card is not about all of these things for me, its about the process and the way I look after my mental health.
Listen, I want you to be inspired and hopefully not too intimidated do give this a try. This stamp makes you feel like an artist when you see the finished product and I love stamps sets like this, that seem to love me back!! 😄

Mini Delight: Poppy Release Instagram Hop

Hey, crafty friends!

I'm joining a fun Instagram Hop with Altenew today to celebrate the release of Altenew's Mini Delight: Poppy Stamp and Die Set! Feel free to start the hop over at @altenewllc

To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $25 gift certificate to 4 lucky winners!

For a chance to win, please follow @altenewllc and @linkcraftycards and leave a comment by January 19th, 2021! Altenew will then draw 4 random winners from the comments left on each stop of this Instagram Hop and announce the winners on the Altenew's Mini Delight: Poppy Instagram Hop post on January 21st, 2021.

So what are you waiting for? Get over to @altenewllc to see some gorgeous projects (including my own), and a chance to win!

As you can see my design using this stamp set is in the colour purple! Do you know why?

Well, I like to think out of the box sometimes and I did not want to do a classic red poppy. Therefore, I researched the poppy to find alternative colours and what they may represent. Of course, a red poppy is very symbolic of loss of precious lives during the wars, so when I saw that the purple poppy is to remember animal victims of war, then of course that was a no brainer for me...purple poppy it was going to be!

I am an avid animal lover. Animals like horses, dogs and pigeons were often drafted into the war effort, and those that wear the purple poppy feel their service should be seen as equal to that of the human service. In particular, many horses were killed or injured in World War One.

Therefore, my card is dedicated to the animal victims of war 💜

I hope my design as given you some inspiration today?
Remember to pop over to @altenewllc and follow along on the Instagram Hop for you chance to win a $25 voucher.

Altenew Fresh Start Stamps/Dies/Stencils/Embossing Folders Collection Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

To check out this fabulous new release you can visit the Altenew shop HERE! and see the new release HERE!
Read on to see some cards that I designed using this release. Also, you will find the entry details for your chance win a gift voucher and freebies with your orders.

Vintage Garden Stamp & Die Set

I love how these cards turned out! The colour combos are pretty classic, green and kraft, pink and grey. I ink blended the Vintage Garden Stamps after I had embossed the images with white embossing powder. When you do this, always remember to wipe over the images with a paper towel after ink blending. It enables the white of the embossing to show through better.
The images were then popped up on the background which was achieved by cutting the Grid Cover Die in the complimentary cardstock.

Spotted Orchid Stamp & Die Set

I teamed up Spotted Orchid Stamp & Die Set with the Grid Cover Die, also from this release. To add that extra something, I die cut Altenew's Fancy Hello Die from gold cardstock and placed it on a banner to help it pop!

This second card used the same products, but this time the back drop is paper from their 6 x 6 paper pad called Essential Rock These papers are BEAUTIFUL!

Enchanted Roses Stamp Set

I really enjoyed making these cards. I was able to use the Simple Greetings Die Set and Altenew's  previously released Sphere Stencil using such light pretty colours, which I love enabled me to get a really soft design.
One thing I ought to mention is that Altenew have released their own Crafter's Essential Bone Folder!  This is a piece of crafty equipment that is essential when card making (in my humble opinion). Reason, the cheaper versions do not get that beautiful and crisp clean fold fold in the card stock. I have used cheaper versions, but they just do not get that professional finish.
I used it with all of the cards above.

    Welcome 2021!

    Hi Guys,
I decided to choose my own favourite nine to depict my year of cards for 2020.
Reason being...2020 was not my most creative year and due to moving home, I did not always have access to my crafting tools as they were in boxes!
When I reflect on 2020, many words come to mind- difficult, scary, exciting, lonely, fun, challenging, lovely, sad, and many more words 🤔
We have missed our family trip home to hug our families. We have lost our dear Sasha. Craig was put on leave because of Covid. We have been unable to mix with friends. I have been unable to do my job looking after seniors mental health in long term care and supported living. I have watched my friends and colleagues cry because we have felt helpless while listening to staff cope.
But I reflect now on all the amazing things that has happened this last year. We moved house (I have no clue how that all came together in the end!). I got a beautiful new craft room. We have continued to connect with our families. Our families have grown strong and coped amazingly well and they have their health and well-being. My son moved in together with his love and best friend. My daughter has shown strength and courage all the while being a fantastic mum to two of my grand boys. We have reconnected with our dear friends in Scotland. We have been able to connect with my bestie (who I nurse trained with). Molly is still with us. And, we are both healthy.
O look at my little carting corner of the world and reflect how being creative enables me to switch off from my thoughts, and relax. It's a joy, it's a stress reliever and it enable me to enjoy the gift of giving.
I am grateful to those for you guys who take time to look at my designs, and even take the time to like and comment. Thank you so much for your support, and lets look forward to a more hopeful year of peace, happiness and real hugs!

I wish you a wonderful, uplifting and settled 2021 💗
