Well, Hi there crafters!
I was pretty busy making cards throughout December and January and I let you know that I would be sharing a lot in the new year, well, here I am again guest designing for Altenew! Third time this month!!
I feel pretty lucky about that actually as it really is not a hardship designing and using their stamping products. The quality is wonderful and the designs amaze me as I am sure they do you.
I have a couple of cards to share with you as part of the blog hop but first, let me tell you a bit about it..
Giveaway Prizes!
To celebrate, Altenew are giving away $200 in total prizes!
Altenew is giving away a $50 gift certificate to 1 lucky winner and a $15 gift certificate to 10 winners! All you have to do is to leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog and/or each designer’s blog post on the blog hop list below by 01/28/2021 for a chance to win.
Altenew will draw 11 random winners from the comments left on each stop of this blog hop and announce the winners on the Altenew Winners Page on 01/30/2021. That's it! So, what are you waiting for peeps?!
Below are a couple of card projects that I completed using the Paint-A-Flower : Camellia stamp. I hope my designs will inspire you to get some valuable time with yourself and get creating!
Watercolouring seems really intimidating to me. I see so many amazing projects on social media of artists and I feel as though I am out of my depth with it. Sometimes, when I want to watercolour but feel as though I just can not do it, I bring out my Zig markers. Don't worry, I am going to do 'real' watercolouring when I feel more confident, but I really wanted to make the most of colouring this beautiful Camellia image.
The second card project, because of course I am unable to stop at just one project, hahaha...is the same beautiful Paint-A-Flower Camellia but this time I coloured it with Copic markers and the die cut it. I wanted to have the opposite of the card above and have dimension this time. I love to have a bit of texture, so you will see I (yet again) used the Grid Cover Die.
Buuuuuut, I embossed with it instead!!
Are you impressed? because I am!
After fussy cutting out the Camellia image, I then popped it on top of
the embossed background. I made good use of the new really handy Simple Greetings Die set, released earlier this month by adding one in the centre of the card. Add a few embellishments, and voila!
One other thing before you leave.. Altenew have some monthly subscriptions and Paint-A-Flower is one of them. I have added the details below just in case you are interested.

This is a monthly subscription plan for our Paint-A-Flower. When signed up, you are guaranteed a spot in our monthly Paint-A-Flower releases and will receive a set each month - at a specially discounted price! ($15.99 →$12.99)

ReplyDeleteThese are both so pretty. :)
ReplyDeleteYes I am impressed with the embossing 🙂 I just realized that's sort of a pun. Both cards are beautiful - the watercolour with the zigs is really lovely.
ReplyDeleteOh the blue camelias!!! Stunning! Don't be afraid of watercolor -- it just takes a little practice.
ReplyDeleteYour cards turned out beautifully! I am the same way with water coloring, and not too confidant yet. It’s nice to be able to use alternative mediums to practice with :-)
ReplyDeleteLove the second card the embossing gives it texture and really makes the flowers stand out.
ReplyDeleteThe first card is nice too, thanks for sharing.
Pretty cards!! I love that you did both of them on a horizontal. Love the embossed background and pink flowers of the 2nd card
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards. I too am intimidated by watercolors but love the effect of them and watching others do amazing things with them. You did a great job with the Zig markers instead and I love the embossed background using the cover die. Thanks for sharing your amazing talent and wonderful ideas with us. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat cards! I love the colors you picked for the flowers and your card design. That turquoise is my favorite.
