Altenew Paint-A-Flower: Clematis & Artist Alcohol Markers Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hi guys,

Welcome to the Altenew blog hop to celebrate the release of the new Paint-A-Flower Clematis Outline Stamp. How beautiful is this stamp set?!

You may have found yourself here from Yoonsun Hur and after me you should go show some love to Kelly Latevola. I feel pretty lucky being sat between these two royalties of the crafting world!

As you scroll down my post, you will find my design and also all the details of how you can enter to win prizes. At the bottom of my post you will find the full list of the fabulous designers who are sharing their amazing talent with you today.

So, I was thinking out of the box with my design...completely! As you will see, I have not painted anything. This was quite on purpose!

I thought this stamp was stunning and as I mentioned in my last blog post, I love having a background and this stamp has it all, including the trellis look that reminds me of an English country garden. Now read the sentiment...I know this may all seem a bit deep and you may be saying 'gosh, I am just following a blog hop" but I am a Mental Health Clinician after all! 😁

My design became a slimline card - I stamped it twice to achieve this.

I didn't paint the flower at all (despite it being part of the Paint-A-Flower outline stamp) and I used a sentiment that was as unique as the recipient would be, that is also part of this stamp set.

If there's one thing that I have learned in my mental health practice, is not to take everything on face value. Don't assume about others and don't judge.

This stamp set was designed for a certain type of activity, but I wanted to show you that you can use this stamp set in many ways...colouring it is just one way!

Altenew Bold Blossoms

 Hi crafty peeps!

Altenew Bold Blossoms is a layering stamp and die set that I have not had chance to create with until last weekend. I enjoy using layering sets, but not too complicated ones..hahaha This stamp set was perfect! It was not difficult lining the stamps up at all.

With the blue design, I wanted to frame a sentiment with the flowers. I have seen Yana Smakula do this but she is braver than me. She will colour the flowers, let them overlap the cardstock then cut the ends off after all that colouring!! 🤯

With this pink design below, I used Altenew's Grid Cover Die as a backdrop. I really like a nice backdrop with florals and this die reminds me of a trellis in an English country garden.

It's a pretty versatile die as you can make it any colour, and as you will see with some of my future cards because I have cut it too!

Make sure you check me out on Instagram for some cards that don't make it to my blog. You will see me use some of the same stamps and dies but in a few different ways.
My goal is to link you to items that I use and inspire you to look in your stash and make something too.

On Monday, February 22nd, I am going to be part of a blog hop with Altenew again as a guest designer. They are releasing a wonderful stamp set and I have designed something the complete opposite of what its called...don't understand what I mean? Well, make sure you pop by to see what I mean!
Take care and see you Monday!

Colorado Craft Company Cuties

Hi crafty peeps!
So, Colorado Craft Co have been releasing some incredibly cute stamps , the illustrations are wonderful. They remind me of the Beatrix Potter days when I would read the books and try to lose myself in them. I used to imagine being one of the animals and I really believed they could speak! I have always loved this kind of illustration, and to have them in stamp form for me to colour is such a treat for me.

As I have said before, watercolouring is really hard for me. I think I probably just have to keep practicing...anyway, that lovely lady Cathy Zielske (the face behind CZ Design) was using distress oxides to watercolour one of the very same Colorado Craft co stamps! My stamps had been delivered that very same day...it was such a coincidence, that I decided to give it a go.
This is the result!

Now I am not saying they are great, but I think I did a better job with these and using oxides than what I have done using normal watercolours.
One of the things I really like is using watercolour paper because its textured. There is just something about that with these images. Not sure if you have noticed, but I also did a bit of ink splattering too!

All the cards here use a combinations of three stamp sets by Colorado Craft Company.
I have to say, if you haven't checked out their website yet, you must it is full of adorable images...eeeek!

Well, thats me for now...I have been making a ton of cards so keep an eye out as I am going to bombard you with inspiration!
Bye for now

Hug Enclosed with Simon Says Stamp Goodies

Hi Crafters!
I wanted to do a wee blog post just to show you the cards I made to make me feel proactive in myself because I was missing family and friends. These guys are a stamp and die set called Animal Hearts by Simon Says Stamp. Everyone love critter stamps and this one said "buy me!"...no, really, it did!
I also purchased a sentiment stamp set by Simon called Just Miss You and it will be one I use forever!
I love a good stamp set that feels like an investment.

You will see the critters are placed over a floating background. I achieved this by using a stencil, ink blended the centre, then did a bit of white paint flicking, just to give it that extra something. The critter were coloured with Copic, which tends to be my 'go to' colouring medium. The Hello die is one of my favourite sentiment dies. The font is so lovely and I love how it curves and frame an image. The die is Hello Honey Script by Birch Press Design.

As with all my cards, I don't think these were too complicated and hopefully they inspire you to design something similar with what you have in your stash.
I hope you have a wonderful week guys, and remember to keep your distance from each other, we are on the home stretch.

Beautiful Flowers by Simon Says Stamp

Hi crafty peeps!
As you know, I am a sucker for florals.
I love this stamp set by Simon Says Stamp called Beautiful Flowers...how can you not?! I think flowers make me happy which is why I tend to gravitate towards them when designing. This set has the most magnificent large stamp that is a classic! It has so much detail that as long as you can stamp a clear image, its a really easy stamp set to use, and will make your cards look incredible.

To colour the cards I used only two Copic Markers, # V000 & #RV13
The sentiments are both from a new stamp set Simon released recently called Just Miss You.
Again, I am not being sponsored or anything, just sharing. This sentiment stampp set is a must too! I have made several cards with air and its so appropriate just now with missing family and friends.
Stay safe and stay well...not long to go now

Now, let me inspire you with some of the cards I made using products from this release...

Queen Anemone Stamp and Die Set

These three cards use several products from Altenew. I like to use new stamps with some in my stash. I want to showcase the beautiful Queen Anemone Stamp and Die Set. Wow, this is a beauty! It's a layering stamp set, and I love these sets because the end result is amazing and it helps me feel like I am a genius! Hahahaha..
The gorgeous swirl backdrop was achieved by die cutting Altenew's Swirl Motif Die
For the  pink card below, I used the Linear Crossroads Die also by Altenew. The background papers are from Altenew's Rock Collection. The sentiments are from Altenew's really useful Fancy Greetings Stamp Set

Please do not feel intimidate by the Queen Anemone Layering Stamp Set. Altenew are so good at marking the stamp layers to help you.

Also, don't feel the need to always layer in order, or have to do all the layers. Be creative and think what works for you. Altenew are giving you the tools, but you are the one with the creativity to pull a design together!

Tall Foliage Stamp Stamp & Die Set

What can I say...simple, beautiful, elegant, love it! This Tall Foliage Stamp is one of Altenew's outline sets and simplicity is the key with this kind of set, well, I think it is....😁
Just adding a little colour to compliment the detailed design is the way to go.
On the card above, I added some colour on white cardstock, stamped the image, then added some flowers from Altenew's Adore You Stamp Set.

My second and third designs were created using the Tall Foliage
Stamp and Die Set paired with the super sophisticated Slim Deco Cover Die Set
I know this die set is going to be a greatly used die for me. I love the frame and could not resist doing a slimline card! Teamed with the Tall Foliage, it just seemed the perfect match.

The card you see here behind the slimline is a standard A2 card and you will see the smaller of the Slim Deco Cover Die Set fits perfectly for this, so if slimline is not your thing, then the set works for the traditional size too.

Altenew are offering a free gift promotion to celebrate the release.

Here are THREE ways to get a FREEBIE to kickstart your creativity!
